CCT Ribbon and Lace

 This week at Cute Card Thursday we would like to see ribbon and/or lace on your creations - I used a bit of both!

For my card I stamped up this LOTV wedding carriage, I've had the stamp a while but this is the first time it's been inked!  Colouring was easy with my Copics and Stardust Stickles on the bride's gown.

Here's the card:

It's fairly small, a 5" square, so not a lot of room for embellishments.  The papers are old magazine freebies by Nitwits and I've managed to add a die cut lace strip as well as real lace, some die cut blooms and butterflies then a little organza ribbon bow and tiny heart charm.  More Stickles added to the flowers and the butterflies for added sparkle and liquid pearls in the centres of the flowers.  Die cuts are Marianne Design, of course, so here's the list:

I Do!

I recently got to play with a couple of my older LOTV Wedding stamps, and this is one of the cards I made.

This image is 'I do!' and I've coloured with my Copics then added lots of sparkle with Stardust Stickles and glaze pen over the hearts.

Here's the card:

Having difficulty focusing the camera again .. .. and having to take the picture under the cooker hood light as it's back to dull misty days here in Cornwall.  I've used white pearl paper for the embossed background and for my die cuts - all Marianne Design of course.  Here's a close up of the flowers and the list of dies I used:

Better focus this time!

The embossed background I made with the new folder DF3424 called Pearls - it's going to be one of my favourites!

And I've cut a swirl edge with one of the dies in the wave border set  LR0395 tucking a little tiara lace behind.

I've cut the new star doily LR0397 to tuck in behind the image.

The flowers and leaves are cut with the strip dies I love so much, the leaves from CR1336, and the flowers from CR1323.

The Addicted to Stamps challenge is to use die cuts with your stamped design, I think I'm ok to enter with them! And over at Sweet Stampin' the theme is for glitter and sparkle, plenty of that too!

CCT is in the Pink!

Apologies for being late again sharing my DT card for Cute Card Thursday where we are 'In the Pink!' - so looking for lots of pink on your creations.  Our sponsor is Bunny Zoe Crafts, please stop by the CCT blog to read all about the prize and see what the rest of the DT have created.

I have stamped up one of my older LOTV designs, this is Emma in the Rose Garden, and I used a grey Momento ink for a change to keep things soft.  I've coloured with my Copic pens then added Stardust Stickles to the flowers and hem of her dress, and glaze pen on the butterflies - and it's not showing up!

Here is the card:

I've used another of the 5" square base cards that I thought looked better with the papers I'd chosen. My paper and die cuts are all by Marianne Design and on the papers I've added the embossed faux stitching then inked the edges with a soft grey/green chalk ink and a touch of Stardust glitter on the pretty flower design in the corner.  The circle is threaded with pink organza ribbon and I've added a quadruple loop bow at the bottom - and that means I can enter a new challenge I found called Craft-Dee BowZ where it's anything goes with a hand tied bow.  A few soft pink pearl blobs finish things off.

The Marianne Design dies I've used are the mini butterflies CR1354 and the ribbon doily with rosette CR1350.  The pretty papers are from the Country Style pack.

CCT Fairies and Angels

Apologies for my short and sweet post this week - I finally got an appointment with a dentist yesterday and had 2 teeth pulled, it should have been 3 but I have 'unusual roots' and after 45 mins of pushing, pulling, twisting, grinding, drilling etc .. .. only 2 came out.  I'm being referred to the hospital for the 3rd under GA as they will have to chip some bone!  My roots look like mini saw blades or thorny rose bushes - they were gripping in there for dear life!

So, I am in pain and late with my posting as I forgot to do it before I left.  My fairy is an old LOTV stamp I've coloured with my Copics and lots of glitter.  Here's the card:

I had a change from Christmas.  This is a 5" square grey base, oddments of Nitwits papers from my stash, die cut mats, and die cut flowers and border, and butterflies die cut from sparkly glitter card.  Sorry for no details, but I am sure if you are a regular visitor you will recognise the MD dies I used.

CCT animals or birds

I have inked up one of my cute LOTV stamps and coloured with Copics, then added fluffy snow and white pearl flakes.  It's a relatively CAS card for me as I didn't want to cover up the pretty Marianne Design paper.  And I was using up bits and pieces and yet another UFO!
Here's the card:

A small square card base, then I cut and matted my paper onto ivory card adding the faux stitching around the edges.  I've stuck down the image and greeting flat so the card should, hopefully, go through the narrow slot at the PO.  For decoration I simply made a couple of little poinsettia flowers from Mulberry paper and cut the holly sprays from the ivory card to complement the holly spray on the patterned paper.

Food and Drink at CCT

Well, I've gone for food, cake to be precise and made by the LOTV cute little mice.

I've coloured my stamped image with Copic pens and added touches of sparkle to the icing sugar with Stickles.  Here's the card:

The base was already in my started to make box .. .. .. a piece of pretty Nitwits paper I had inked the edges and stuck onto a plain white base, and that's as far as I'd got.  So that was the determining colour for my image and after rummaging in the bit box I found a couple other small pieces of Nitwits that matched so inked and layered them up too.  I also had an off cut of a pretty Marianne Design oval doily so popped that in behind the image that I cut out with the MD fancy square.  It was looking a bit plain, so I decided to add some faux stitching with a fine marker pen, then rummaged about and found ribbon to match so stuck that down, tied a bow and added the row of flat backed pearl string.

To get flowers to match I simply die cut them from white card then coloured with the darkest pink Copic marker I'd used in the image, and added the stitching.  To finish off I die cut and inked leaves and a swirl from the beige paper design and dusted areas with more Stickles - not showing up in the picture but quite sparkly in real life and the ribbon has a soft sparkle too.

Little Mice BirthdayCard

I have a little mice birthday card to share with you, it's relatively CAS, at least for me, and one from my UFO box (Unfinished Objects).

The image is the cute flower shop mice stamp from LOTV, coloured with my Copics then soft chalk ink around the edges along with a direct to image stamped text.  Here's the card:

It's another one of those where I'd got a piece of pretty paper stuck down already then changed my mind about what I was going to do, plus the paper didn't reach the bottom of the card anyway!  I fixed that with a piece of MD lace and a die cut border along with a length of pearl trim, this time round peals where I dabbed each with tacky glue and had to press down for a while to get them to stick!  The border die is the one I use to create the faux stitching around the edge of my images and layers, so gets used a lot!

A simple little square birthday card for the charity box, and hopefully will fit through the narrow slot at the PO too.  I have more mice to share with you later in the week .. .. watch this space!

Snowman Freinds

I have another snowman card to share with you.  This is the cute LOTV stamp and I've coloured with my Copics then added flaky glitter and pearl falling flakes.

Now, before I show you the card, I have to say that it's not one of my best and I actually thought about ditching it .. .. but, the paper is Marianne Design and has been stuck down on the card base for a year - waiting!  And I am determined to use up those started but not finished bits and pieces and the boxes of odds and ends.  So, here is the card:

I think it's the colour that puts me off - I don't associate brown with Christmas!  I tried lightening things up with extra bright white Marianne Design die cut snowflakes too.  And then there was that tree .. .. I recently got the two new MD tree dies and had this one cut out from a dark kraft card as an experiment - and I hate to throw anything away.  So I covered it with the flaky glitter too and popped it in behind my picture.  It's growing on me and I guess some folks like brown!

There's lots of challenges with Christmas themes so I'm going to enter my cute snowman into the Allsorts blog, Winter Wonderland, and the ABC Christmas blog who are up to the letter 'V' for very cute - he is a very cute snowman!

CCT Candy

This week at Cute Card Thursday our theme is Candy .. .. so interpret any way you like!  Our sponsor for this challenge is Whimsy Stamps, please stop by the CCT blog to read all about it and see what the rest of the team have created.

With Halloween creeping up behind us, I've put together a little candy box for the kiddies that come around - last year just 6 little ones all together with a couple grown ups, so hopefully the same this year.  Most of my neighbours are more elderly or don't have young children so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I saw something similar on Pinterest so started out with an empty egg box.  The inspiration picture had it painted black, but I didn't have any black paint so instead went with blood red and used Alizarin Crimson Americana acrylic instead - one coat more than covered the green box but it was easier to spread the paint with a damp brush just to thin it a little.  The pumpkins on the side are a Penny Black stamp I've coloured and fussy cut out then fixed with a double thick 3d pad on the end pumpkins so they sit over the 'hole' but it still shuts - get that?

On top is an easel card with 'Little Witch' by Elisabeth Bell, coloured with my Copics.  I've stamped little bats and spider webs from another PB set and gone over areas with a sparkle pen, but unfortunately it doesn't show up.

The black mat is cut with Marianne Design die LR0310 and I've gone around the edge with black Stickles - you can just about make it out I think.

The stopper is an old brad from my stash, and the spotty paper is from my digi bit box. The 'Trick or Treat' die cut is from a Penny Black set.

Here's the inside of the lid:

I've die cut the 'BOO' from the same set and added black Stickles on top, then fixed onto a strip of bendy plastic so it bobs when the box is opened.

The stamped image is LOTV's little wizard, coloured with my Copics and silver pen for the stars.

And finally, the candy .. ..

The Halloween version of the Creme Egg (disgusting things).  I coloured tissue paper with Copics then used my fancy edge scissors to cut strips to use as padding in the box for the eggs.

Well, I hope my little Halloween monsters will like the gift.  I might have to make a few more little things just in case more of them turn up .. .. watch this space!

Warm Summer Colours

Well we haven't had much of a warm summer this year, fingers crossed for a beautiful Indian Summer instead!

I made this card quite a while ago and it has gone to the recipient for his birthday. The image is LOTV stamp 'in the country' and love the cute dog - perfect for the person it was made for!  I've coloured the image with my Copic pens, and apologise for the wonky picture (it's actually a wee bit wonky in real life too - hence all the flowers across the bottom!)

The flowers are die cut from ordinary paper then painted with H2Os, shaped a little and layered up. The paint makes them quite stiff and they hold their shape.  Here's the card:

The patterned papers are scraps from my digi print out box and I've added embossed faux stitching around the edges and inked with brown chalk ink.  The tiny flowers are punched with  MS Hydrangea punch and the leaves are created with an old punch/emboss punch in my stash.  The swirls, scallop trim and flowers are all created with Marianne Design dies, these ones .. ..

Anything Goes at CCT

This adorable LOTV baby stamp I had already coloured up and cut out in my image box so all I had to do was add a touch of sparkle, a mat with the pearls around the edge with my pearl maker pen, and another pale green mat from coredinations type card that I could sand back the edges.  The colours are soft and the original plan was to keep things neutral so the card could be for a boy or girl Christening, but I'm not sure if I got that right in the end .. .. here is the card:

I've had another play at the shabby chic style - have I got it do you think?  The scrap of background paper from my digi bit box is rather more green in real life and I've used a soft green chalk to ink the roughed up edges and the embossed highlights on my die cut elements behind the image.  As shabby chic seems to focus on using lace and pearls, I've doubled up a row of MD vintage lace and added the flat back pearl string from Buddly Crafts along the join.  I've tied a double bow with the pretty MD ribbon I got in the Christmas Special pack - it's an ivory shade so matches the lace, and added a little tag and charm.  For the flowers I've die cut from pearl paper then inked in soft pink, squished and layered them up - here's a close up:

I've used the two smaller dies in the sets CR1201 and CR1204 along with stamens from set LR0111. All Marianne Design of course!

The die with the most petals, CR1201 I kept as a single flower, they are the white flowers with a touch of pink in the middle and a white pearl to finish things off.

The die with fewer petals, CR1204 I've doubled up with the tips of the flowers inked and the stamens added to the middle along with a pink pearl.

The swirly leaf spray is from LR0271 and the heart and die cut behind the image are from set LR0299.

My Snowman Friend

Good morning from a very windy Cornwall! although the morning is not quite so good for me as I was up most of the night with horrendous tooth problems .. .. so tomorrow afternoon I will overcome my fear of needles in my mouth and get my four lower incisors pulled out! Well, one final broke off a couple months back after a little accident last summer, and the others are all loose so should come out easy enough! and the pain in the jaw up by my ear might be due to a hair-line fracture from the previous incident .. .. and infection - so I may be absent for a wee while feeling very sorry for myself.  I do have my CCT DT cards made for the next few challenges so will try to get them ready to go.

Back to today's card then.  Another cute snowman from LOTV coloured with my Copics. I am looking forward to seeing the new Christmas designs that LOTV will be bringing out - some retail therapy might just help out!  Here's the card:

It's a simple layout relying on the pretty paper from the Marianne Design special Christmas pack for interest.  I've die cut a mat for my image, cut and inked a few snowflakes, and die cut the text, then kept things fairly flat with just 1mm foam tape to fix my image to the base and pop up the bottom snowflake - it should fit through the narrow slot at the Post Office.  The die cuts are all by Marianne Design, of course - Text from LR0225, mat from CR1248, snowflakes from LR0123, CR1225 and CR1226.

The new Christmas Card Challenge is anything goes so I can enter with my snowman friend.

July Rudolph Days!

It's the 25th of the month so the start of another Rudolph Days challenge on Scraps of Life blog. Anything Christmas goes, and you have until the end of the month to enter.

I notice from my files that this is the 7th card I've created with this LOTV Mr Snowman stamp!  He is so easy to colour and this time out I've done him in red and blue to match the odd pieces of my Marianne Design papers - I am trying to use up the left-overs.

Here is the card:

Blue textured card for the image mat and paper mat, with my faux embossed stitching around the edges.  I die cut the icicle border to hide the join in the papers, found some paper flowers that had come free in a magazine ages ago so spritzed and tweaked them then layered up with a blob of pearl maker pen in the middle.  Unfortunately the first blob flattened out a lot, so I went back and added another on top.  More blobs on the die cut holly sprays and lots for snow behind my snowman.

CCT Ladies Only

oh my the internet is slow in Cornwall now .. .. all those holiday makers trying to link up back home .. .. so although this post is for Cute Card Thursday, it's actually Wednesday today as I'm typing and goodness knows how long it's going to take me to write it all up.  Plus, I have extra pictures to share - hopefully I'll get it done eventually.

I've inked up my LOTV Coffee Time stamp and coloured with my Copic pens, although in my close up pic it's looking a bit washed out.  I've used another piece of my SU! special paper, same as last week, and gone to town with flowers.  First up though, here is the card:

I've edged with my embossed faux stitching although it's hard to make out, and I left off a sentiment so I can use if for any special girly occasion. The die cuts are Marianne Design, except the SB scallop cream mat.  The pink pearls on the cream mat are made with a new Viva Decor pearl pen, and yes they do seem to be self levelling so no nipples on top although with the light catching them it looks otherwise!  The flowers are made with MD mulberry paper and coloured with a couple shades of Momento pink die ink, here's a close up of them:

The darker flowers are created with two layers of die cuts, the paler ones with just one layer, and the tiny buds are again one layer then snipped into the middle and rolled up - fiddly but I think they look ok.  I took an emery board to the leaves to highlight the edges and the central vein.  Here's the dies I used for the flowers:

So, the pale flowers are made with the bigger petalled die CR1204, and simply inked, spritzed and squished with a ball tool so the petals come together. Once dry I tweaked a little and added the pearl in the middle.

For the darker flowers cut with CR1201, I inked just the edge of the petals, then spritzed on the back so the ink bleeds a little, squished and then when dry layered up two and added the pearl centre.

The tiny buds cut with LR0160 I made from the paper that I already coloured pink as it's easier to do that way around .. .. then snip into the middle, lightly spritz with water and roll up tight.  When dry they come undone a bit so you might need to re-roll if you want tight buds, but I actually like the loose look!

Creative Inspirations are wanting girlie creations this week so definitely one to enter! The In The Pink new theme is floral, along with lots of pink, and a picture of pretty roses in a tea cup .. .. inspiration certainly! and I think my card fits that theme but not sure if it's pink enough, hope so.

Sunshine is back in Cornwall today so I need to finish off tidying the garden and pruning/pulling out some of the spring and early summer flowering things that have gone over to let the light in for the things still to flower that seem to be hiding underneath.  I am beginning to realise that either I'm getting too old or the garden is getting too big .. .. I think more permanent shrub planting that just needs an annual prune might be the way to go, before my back goes!

Mmmm Cake!

For my card I've inked up one of my LOTV girlie stamps, called cupcake I think, and perfect for the theme.  She's coloured with Copics then I've added clear glaze to the cherries on top of the cakes and Stickles to her petticoat.  Here's the card - I've hit the auto bright button so it's now too bright, but I thought my little preview was looking dull - somewhere I'll figure out how to get a happy compromise between the two .. ..

The papers are some of my specials by Stamping Up! and although I love them, I've told myself that I have to cut them up before I can buy any new gorgeousness .. .. ah well!  The flower is another one I made by painting the die cut MD daisies with Twinkling H2Os, then a little die cut leaf spray and butterflies finish things off. I didn't want to add too much in the way of embellishments and cover up the pretty paper, so I sat on my hands for this one!

CCT Stars and Stipes

Good Morning! This week on Cute Card Thursday we are celebrating with stars and stripes in honour of our friends in the USA who will be whooping it up on 4th July!

But, you know me .. .. first off I had to find some starry or stripey paper so went rummaging, and found this old Papermania Christmas pad with these two sheets that I thought could be used any time of year.  Then for more stars and stripes I decided on this LOTV Wizard with his stripey top and stars on his wizard's hat and cloak.  I've coloured with my Copics and what looks grey in the picture is actually brown!  Still trying to get the colours true on the camera and this time my little lad is looking rather pale and washed out, not so in real life. I've fussy cut him out and layered him up with 3d foam onto the stripey mat, and layered that onto the starry background.

My youngest grandson likes pink! So this will be just right for his Halloween card.  I've decorated with green ribbon from my stash and punched stars, and a die cut swirly embellishment from a couple of Marianne Design doily sets, you get the big one in LR0129 and the smaller one in LR0130.  The die cut 'Eeek' is from a Penny Black die set I got on sale recently, first time I've used that brand and I must say, even though it is very fine and fiddly to layer up, it cut beautifully in my old Cuttlebug.  I used another of the dies from the set on the inside of the card, here:

And I found the little star stamp in my mini wood collection .. .. I've been digging out all kinds of stuff that I'd put away at the back of the cupboard so there will be some different 'old but new' things to share with you soon!

CCT Add a Quote

ok, so you can't see the quote I've added in this little snip of the picture, so I'll quickly move on after telling you that the latest Cute Card Thursday challenge starts today and our sponsor is Whimsy Stamps, as usual stop by the CCT blog to read all about it and see what the rest of the DT have created.

I've inked up this cute LOTV stamp called 'Always' and coloured with my Copic pens.  Best show the card then:

The quote is an old stamp and I die cut using one of the hearts in a Marianne Design set LR0299.  The papers are digi designs from Buddly crafts with my signature embossed and inked stitching around the edge.  I'v added a little lace and a swirly pearl heart - that's from a MD set of pearl heart designs.  The flowers are cut from the two flower dies in LR0107 using plain printer paper then painted with H2Os so end up quite stiff enough to hold their own on a card, these were a couple of my early attempts so not as detailed as some I've made recently, but I think they coordinate with the flowers the little lad is holding behind his back.  To finish I've simply added the leaves from the mini poinsettia set, punched fronds and butterflies and the pearls.

The Papertake Weekly theme is for something 'So Pretty', I think this fits.  The ABC challenge theme is at the letter 'L' = lace, so I can enter with them too.

I'm flitting about a bit just at the moment, doing what I can when I can but still not able to get my teeth sorted out, except in a dire emergency when a visit to one of the hospitals with a dental department will give temporary relief but not help out with proper fillings or hygiene treatments.  I am on several 'waiting lists' so guess I will just have to do that .. .. wait!

CCT Summer Colours

Time for another challenge at Cute Card Thursday, this time we want to see some sunshine Summer colours, and at last here in Cornwall we actually have seen the sun .. .. not sure for how long though.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Bunny Zoe's Crafts, please stop by the CCT blog to read all about it and see what the rest of the DT have created.

I have inked up one of my favourite LOTV girls, this cutie is Rosie Posie and was one of the first LOTV stamps I got.  This time out I've coloured her in sunshine yellow with touches of complimentary purple.  Here's my card:

I've used up another scrap piece and made Rosie into a topper so the whole thing will fit into a 5" square envie.  The papers are digi scraps and I coloured the ribbon and row of lace flowers with my Copic pens to match in, oh and the clear domes in the centres of the flowers and down the side too.  The flowers are die cut from ordinary printer paper then coloured with yellow H2O paints so are lovely and shimmery in real life. The die cut elements are made with my Marianne Design dies, here's the list:

Turkey Dinner

 I managed to put together another Christmas card over the long Bank Holiday weekend, it does take a while when the garden needs tending, the dog needs walking and Mum needs sorting out - but finally, it's finished!

This is the Turkey Dinner stamp by LOTV, one of my old favourites because it has a puppy and that huge turkey, not to mention that pud on top of the stove, they are going to enjoy their festive dinner to be sure! I've coloured with my Copics and added just a touch of sparkle to the pup's Christmas hat.

As I said, I started this card last week, after seeing that the Winter Wonderland blog challenge was for Festive Food and knowing I had this stamp already in my Christmas 'half-made' pile.  I also had the background paper all layered up on the card so it was a matter of layering up my image to match and adding my die cut snippets - another one for Pixie's Snippets Playground - and thank you Diane for sharing my Rudolph card, I am glad you liked it!  I will almost always have snippets on my makes as I love to use my Marianne Design dies for embellishing, I think they add interest without too much sticking up so can go through the post!

On this card I used the mini poinsettia die LR0142 along with leaves from the bigger poinsettia set LR0122.  The pine cones are from set LR0286 and the holly sprays from LR0244. I coloured the white pearls with a Copic red to match in with everything, oh and I nearly forgot, the text is cut twice with die LR0225 then layered up.

Emma with a Pot Plant

For this card I've done things a bit different .. .. trying my hand at the vintagey distressed look.  I'm happy with how it turned out but perhaps not quite as distressed as it should be?

I've stamped up my LOTV Emma with Pot Plant then coloured her with Copics, I do love the images with a little dog included!

A couple of challenges I'll enter with this one: Creative Inspirations want to see a trio of something so when you see the card there are 3 butterflies and 3 pearls in a row as an embellishment.  Crafty Catz want you to use 2 or more patterned papers, I have used 3/4 different design patterns (2 with roses are similar and from the same design pack)

I had the base paper already with inked edges fixed to the base cream card in my WIP box for ages .. .. you know how it is, an idea takes shape then things go off in a totally different direction, at least that's the way of it with me!  I've added the green and flowery paper layers and used a tool I picked up at the Cornwall craft fair to distress the edges then added ink, and nibbled out a bit of the green layer too.  Those papers are from the Marianne Design French Roses pack.  The edge around my image is a pricked design using a very old brass stencil and I distressed the edge of that layer too. So, how do you think I did with the distressed look?

For embellishment I've just added a single flower spray created with different bits of MD die cuts and those pearl on a stalk thingies, then the 3 butterflies created with a Nellie Snellen punch and emboss set, the text stamped on to a MD label die cut, and then top right the 3 little pearls in a row.
