I had visitors over the Bank Holiday weekend so took them to visit our local vineyard. The grapes are still small and the leaves quite green so it'll be a while before any wine production begins for this year. It did however inspire me for this week's theme, and I remembered I had a Serendipity Stamps quotation stamp about wine that had never seen ink! So this is my result:
The base is a square kraft card that I simply dragged the edge with brown chalk ink. The paper on top is a digi scrap and fortunately already had muted golden tones in a shabby style, so I distressed and inked the edges before stamping my text and sticking to the base.
The rest is all Marianne Design die cut elements that I've inked with various Versamagic chalk inks in Aloe Vera, Tea Leaves, Sahara Sand and Purple Hydrangea. I like the softness you get with chalk inks, and personally I find them easier to blend together and layer.
The Marianne Design dies I used are:
Petra's Grapes - LR0366
Maple leaves with veins - LR0255
Butterfly from LR0261
Marrakesh trellis from DF3416
I hope you like my card - a little bit different from my normal cute style, but I am experimenting with inks and paint and getting messy fingers - it's fun!
I'm going to enter my card into the Try it on Tuesday challenge for trying something new, and the Cuttlebug Mania blog challenge where it's anything goes - and my dies are all cut with my very old original Cuttlebug that I hope keeps going for a few more years yet! The Serendipity Stamps monthly theme is anything goes for the current challenge so I can squeeze into that one too!

Oh my goodness what a gorgeous card! I love the little details like the trellis along the side and the blending along the edges. That's always been one of my favorite verses (that Plato was one smart cookie!). Thanks for playing in Serendipity Stamps Anything Goes Challenge!
