Bright and Beautiful!

Copics
mouse: E40, E41, E42, R20
cup: B60, B63, BV23

Now when I read that Lisa Jane had chosen bright and cheery as the theme for our challenge on the Oldie but a Goodie blog, the song "All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small" started playing in my head! I've had this cute mouse in a teacup stamp from Stampavie for almost a year, and this is the first time I've inked it up and made a card. After colouring with Copics I cut out the image and added an embossed line around the edge with the aid of a ball tool and a square Nestie. The papers are from the Little Miss Daisy digi collection over at Cuddly Buddly and I drew a white line around the edges with a pen then pricked faux stitches. To embellish I've punched 3 little Martha Stewart butterflies from bright pink card stock then added lavender organza ribbon and pearls from my stash.

For this challenge we are being sponsored by Shopbron, but please remember if you are going to join in with the Oldie but a Goodie blog challenge you have to use a STAMPED IMAGE (sorry no digis) and it must be at least 6 months since the stamp came onto the craft market.

Just one challenge I found to link up my card - over on the Top Tip Tuesday blog it's anything goes! No new tips this time around. But, just in case you want to know again - my faux stitches are made by drawing on a white line with a gel pen then adding pricked stitches. And, when cutting out a rectangular or square image give it the Nestie look by using a ball tool and any size of square or rectangular Nestie to give you the edge by moving your image around the frame until you have embossed all around.

Hey I found another challenge on the Stamping Vacation challenge site - animal applause runs until 15 January and you must include something with an antennae .. .. hope my little ladybug will count!

  11. This just made me chuckle & I love that little ladybird. The ribbon contrasts beautifully & I do like those oblong pearls you have used for the butterfly bodies. That ball tool with nestie technique is so effective & I'd not thought of doing the stitiching that way round - it always looks messy when I've done it the other way round - pricking then drawing the lines...... aha.......LIGHT BULB thanks to you.
