So here it is, my one layer with wings card for this week's Less Is More challenge. I resisted the urge to stamp the snowflakes - they come with the stamp (see my last post) and left well alone. The curvy text is from a PB clear set and obviously doesn't have to be straight, thankfully. I messed up two earlier versions trying to get the text lined up! I have edged the card with embossed faux stitches created with Marianne die LRO161, I simply line the edge of the card into the die and run down with an embossing tool, keep turning and moving the card until I've gone all the way around. Not sure why I didn't think of this before! The little Robin is coloured with my Copics, the usual R22, 24 & 27 for red, E40, 41, 42, 43 & 44 for the brown and a touch of YG61, 63 & 67 for the green. I've shadowed with B0000 & B000, extending the line under the text. Finally, a little Stardust Stickles on his hat, well you gotta have sparkle at Christmas!
The Flutterby Wednesday challenge is for any winged creature this week, not just butterflies or fairies, so I can enter with my little robin. The real one in my garden is getting a battering in the wind today so I've put out a few sunflower hearts and seedy bread crumbs on the lawn in the hope he can manage to land near by and hop on over.
Love the simplicity of this Annie, the wavy sentiment is fab, thanks for joining us at Flutterby this week. Joey xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous CAS card! Sweet little image and I agree about the sparkle. I like how you've placed the sentiment - it looks like it's coming right out of the branch. Again, this card is fab!
