Happy Holidays

Today I have a little card to share with you that is also being shown in the Marianne Design card gallery, along with a couple of others.  And I am excited to tell you that my Fantasy Christmas card won 2nd prize in the Marianne Design challenge blog! I have made this card for my granddaughter who told me back in the summer that she likes owls.  Hopefully she is going to spend Christmas with us so I am looking forward to taking her to the Screech Owl Sanctuary near here.  The cute owl image is by Eline Pellinkof for Marianne Designs, coloured with my Copics then cut to fit the centre of the square doily die and with the edges inked with red chalk ink.

I've used a small square scallop card for my base and added a piece of paper from the Scandinavian Winter paper bloc matted with a soft red cardstock, and I inked the edges of the paper first with red chalk ink to take off the white edge.  The text is from Eline's Winter Huis stamp sheet and to finish off I've added the green holly boughs, red stickles for berries, and a little star charm tied onto fine red ribbon.

Marianne dies on this card include: square doily - LR0169, and holly branches - LR0244.

Just a couple of challenges for this card: Crafty Creations challenge is for Christmas, and at the Creative Card Crew it's anything goes.
