CCT Monochrome

Time for our next challenge on the Cute Card Thursday blog - and this time out we are going monochrome, so all shades of one predominant colour.  As you see, I've gone pink!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Sherri Baldy with My Besties shop - please stop by the CCT blog to read all about it.

I've had a few of my old Nellie's Choice Dawn stamps already inked out waiting in the 'to do' box, so I fished out the Copics and finished the job.  As I'd already started with pink flowers it made sense to continue (I'd started about a year ago) and make a real girly card.  Here it is:

I got a really good price on a pack of 5"x7" cards so decided to use one with a piece of digi paper from Buddly Crafts (from one of the Eline's Baby collections I think) and matted with pink textured card.  Embellishments are simple as I'm still missing half my mojo, but little butterflies and the forget-me-not flowers seemed to do the trick.  A stamped text, little bow, sprinkling of pearls and those pearl hearts from eons ago (still half a packet left) finished the card.

Incy Wincy Designs are after birthday creations this week so here's one from me! And I see that the Fussy and Fancy Friday Birthday challenge still has a week to run so I can enter with them too!

Thank you for stopping by to take a peek - the sun is shining here in Cornwall so I need to tidy up the garden before the next downpour, although the grass is too wet to cut .. .. well that's my excuse!

Snoesjes for Rudolph Days!

It's the 25th of the month so time for another Rudolph Days challenge on Scraps of Life blog. You can enter now until the end of the month with any Christmas creation.

This is the last of the new Marianne Design Snoesjes stamps, this is Snoesjes with owl, and a simple card as I've been under the weather.  I've coloured the image with my Copics and cut out in a circle, then gone mad with the Ice Stickles!

Here is the card:

The background paper is from the Marianne Design special beach set and I've simply gone around the edge with my embossed faux stitches and matted onto a square of textured white card.  For embellishments I die cut the trees, made some pretty flowers and die cut the little leaves, adding ink and glitter to the edges, then finished with snips of punched fronds.

I'm also entering into the ABC Christmas challenge where they are up to the letter Q and the theme is quantum leap - to leap back in time to a previous challenge.  I chose G for glitter as there's quite a bit on my card!

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you like my simple little Christmas card.

A sweet something for the Sugar Bowl

Well hello there! yes I am still here .. .. and at long last the neck is no longer killing me and I'm able to get back to a little light crafting.  I made this card a while back for the Sugar Bowl challenge #127, thankfully it still has a few hours to run so I am in time to enter!

I've used one of my old Country Cousins stamps called Angel Wishes and coloured her with my Copics to match some scraps of pale blue paper I had in my bit box.  She is still available but I see is out of stock at the moment - not sure about the digi version though.

Anyway, here is the card:

I've kept things simple as this one might end up being in the Charity box for my local St Francis dog rescue, although I did go overboard with the pearls!  As I said, the papers are oddments from my bit box and the edging across the bottom I already had cut out - I think a Nellie's Choice die if I remember rightly.  I added a few snowflakes cut from white scraps with one of the dies in Marianne Design set LR0327 and the pretty trellis from the die in set DF3416 that I just love! And the text is stamped onto a banner cut from a die in set COL1324.

The Christmas Card blog challenge #38 is anything goes, so I can also enter my card with them.

I am taking it easy so as not to trigger my neck into spasm again, but hope to be able to share a few more cards I've put together very soon.  Thanks for stopping by!

Marianne Design Divas and anything goes!

Time for our next challenge at Marianne Design Divas blog, and for August it's anything goes as long as you have at least 3 MD products on your creation.  Our sponsors for this challenge are Bunny Zoe's Crafts and Marianne Design - please pop over to the blog to see what the prizes are and what the rest of the DT have created.

I have made another Christmas card with one of the new Snoesjes stamps, this one is called 'Singing Snoesjes' and I love the cute dog joining in!  I've coloured my stamped image with Copics then added Lace Stickles for sparkle on the snow, and used a pearl maker pen for the falling snow.  Here is the card:

I've used papers from the Wintertime 6x6 pack PK9100 and dragged my distressing tool around the edges then inked with brown chalk ink and matted with ivory card.  For embellishment I've used MD lace, stamped and cut the MD vintage alphabet letters to spell NOEL, and added various MD die cut pieces - here's the list of products I used:

Wintertime pretty papers bloc PK9100
Snoesjes stamp HM9474
Alphabet stamps and die set COL1380
Vintage Lace - Stars JU0906
snowflake die from CR1256
leaves from CR1245
pine needle fronds from LR0227
flowers from mini poinsettia die LR0142
cut with pink Mulberry paper RB2224
Diamond gems in centres of flowers JU0932

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge theme is for something old - well my papers and lace are from last year, and some of the dies I've had for several years, so should tick that box!

Thank you for stopping by to take a peek, and hope to see you back again soon! Enjoy your weekend - I have family coming over so will be busy ... ...

Anything Goes at CCT

It's Anything Goes this week at Cute Card Thursday, so please do come join in the fun! Our sponsor for this challenge is All Dressed Up - pop over to the CCT blog to read all about it and see what the rest of the DT have created.

This adorable LOTV baby stamp I had already coloured up and cut out in my image box so all I had to do was add a touch of sparkle, a mat with the pearls around the edge with my pearl maker pen, and another pale green mat from coredinations type card that I could sand back the edges.  The colours are soft and the original plan was to keep things neutral so the card could be for a boy or girl Christening, but I'm not sure if I got that right in the end .. .. here is the card:

I've had another play at the shabby chic style - have I got it do you think?  The scrap of background paper from my digi bit box is rather more green in real life and I've used a soft green chalk to ink the roughed up edges and the embossed highlights on my die cut elements behind the image.  As shabby chic seems to focus on using lace and pearls, I've doubled up a row of MD vintage lace and added the flat back pearl string from Buddly Crafts along the join.  I've tied a double bow with the pretty MD ribbon I got in the Christmas Special pack - it's an ivory shade so matches the lace, and added a little tag and charm.  For the flowers I've die cut from pearl paper then inked in soft pink, squished and layered them up - here's a close up:

I've used the two smaller dies in the sets CR1201 and CR1204 along with stamens from set LR0111. All Marianne Design of course!

The die with the most petals, CR1201 I kept as a single flower, they are the white flowers with a touch of pink in the middle and a white pearl to finish things off.

The die with fewer petals, CR1204 I've doubled up with the tips of the flowers inked and the stamens added to the middle along with a pink pearl.

The swirly leaf spray is from LR0271 and the heart and die cut behind the image are from set LR0299.

I hope you like my card and thank you for stopping by to take a peek.  I've not been on the computer for several days as my neck is still recovering and I've had to drive with it so still not getting there .. .. so I've no idea of what challenges have been posted that I might be able to link up to - perhaps I can take a look later and add them in .. .. ..

Snoesjes and the Snowman

I treated myself to the new winter Snoesjes stamps at Buddly Crafts, this is Snoesjes and the snowman.
I've coloured with my Copic pens, added a touch of sparkle around the edge of my die cut image and used Viva Decor 3D snow for the falling flakes .. .. they are mat and not quite what I wanted so I think I will go back to using a pearl maker pen instead.  The fake snow will come in useful for some other projects, I'm sure, it is quite thick so I'm thinking 3d work .. .. on home decor creations for Christmas with glitter added whilst still wet to bling it up a bit - we'll see!

Here is my card, it's a simple one as I'm still under the weather somewhat:

I've die cut my base with a Frilly #10 die and the paper too - it's from the Cozy Christmas A5 pack and I've added ink and glitter around the edge.  It looks like several different pieces, but is actually just one, trying to keep things flat here (but that went out the window at the end with the bow!).

I've decorated with a few die cuts and some punched fronds, and the ribbon.  These are the MD dies I used:

snowflake, lamppost, tree and little deer all from the same set COL1330
a few little leaves from the new die CR1336

At Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge the theme is things beginning with 'S', I have snowman and snow and a touch of sparkle.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look - I've got a recurrence of Vertigo after too much bending and weeding in the garden yesterday.  My neighbour kindly offered to weed the road side of the fence, not a job I was capable of doing, and consequently I felt I had to tidy up the border inside the fence .. .. so spent the whole afternoon bending over. Hopefully once my neck settles down and I get a better blood supply back to my ears, the ground will stop swaying beneath my feet!  Enjoy the rest of your day, and hope the sun is still shining for you - I think it might be coming back out this afternoon in Cornwall .. .. ..

CCT One Word - Boo!

The next challenge we have for you at Cute Card Thursday is to include one word on your project.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Bunny Zoe's Crafts, please stop by the CCT blog to read all about it and see what the rest of the DT has made.

This is one of my messing with paint pieces I created a while back.  This time, after adding my layers of Stewart Gill pearl and alchemy paints I've added Distress crackles too, hope you can make them out.  I've then added more pearly paint 'stars' and the glittery moon before die cutting my one word - Boo - and the branch for my owl to sit on.

It's a simple one from me this week as I'm still not back on form and have been trying to finish off some diy and garden projects when I can.  I found out that my snippets Birthday card with the banners got a top 3 on the Creative Card Crew blog last time - thank you ladies! And as their next challenge is for sparkle and glitter I can join in again with this card and the sparkly moon.  In real life the paint also shimmers as I've used pearl and the aurora shades so it is quite pretty - perhaps for my growing up fast granddaughter at Halloween.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you will pop back again when I have something to share with you .. .. .. soon, I promise!

Cheers!

I had a parcel yesterday from Buddly Crafts with new Marianne Design crafty stash to play with, oh my! I just wish I had a bigger wallet!

Anyway, I'd already die cut the bottle tag from last month's new release and even went so far as cutting out the picture and layering up the wine bottle image, not something I normally do but I had an idea in my head .. .. Unfortunately, that's about as far as I got.  I had die cut the bunch of grapes as well, but coloured them with green ink, and the picture shows red wine .. .. although the bottle I rescued from the recycling bin is an empty white .. .. I don't drink red but the recipient of the tag prefers red so 'tis the best I could come up with at short notice for the photo.  I did snip off the swirls from the bunch of grapes die and use them.

After sitting on my desk for the past month I was almost giving up, but then the new little leaf die arrived, along with the Marrakesh trellis cut and emboss set I've been saving up for - I love it, so fine a cut but I would have liked a bigger die, although I made do and cut up just the one pass with a bit on each side of the tag.  I found a ready cut MD flower in my bit box so added it along with one of the new red diamond gems in the centre and a piece of MD lace from the red selection pack. And I also got the alphabet set that's been on my wish list since it came out so used the 'M' as the intended recipient's name begins with 'M'.  I also got the new Winter Snoesjes stamps, bling and other bits and pieces, including some fabulous freebies!  Thank You Buddly Crafts!

Talking of freebies - the Marianne Design Challenge blog have these for Summer Candy, so you could make your own wine bottle tags if you win! Enter up until 14th August so still time.  And, there is also a free Winter Snoesjes digi on the blog for you to download too.

Now as it's a Sunday, time for Pixie's Crafty Workshop new Snippets challenge - just about all my die cut pieces are snippets on this tag. The leaves and swirls are all cut from oddments of cream card then coloured with chalk inks - just dabbing them on, nothing too precise!

Enjoy the rest of your day - I'm being lazy as still feeling a bit under the weather, I think I might need a course of vitamins as what with the low fodmap diet I've been doing for over a year now and the medication for toothache etc, I wonder if I'm missing out on some oomph!

Summer Ice Cream

At last, it's Summer! well, fingers crossed anyway, it's all very 'British' this year with umbrellas doubling up as sun shades .. .. but whatever the weather, an ice cream always goes down well!

I have inked up an old stamp by Elisabeth Bell originally designed for the Sweet Ebony range at Sugar Nellie many years ago, so probably no longer in existence.  I've coloured with my Copic pens, hope you will like it - here it is:

Note: I checked Elisabeth's digi store here, but couldn't see this image. And checked the EB stamps at Whimsy Stamps too, some of my old Sweet Ebony designs are now with them, but sadly not this one.

The base is a thick peachy pink pearl card I had in my stash, left over from making my son and dil's wedding invites back in 2010 - there is quite a bit left too!  The paper is a sheet from Marianne Design Butterfly 6x6 pack, not sure if that is still available either .. .. and I've used small snippets of a coordinating paper from the same pack down each side.  Rather than do my usual faux embossed stitching I decided to have a go again at using my distressing tool on the papers .. .. still not sure I have the hang of it though.  I've die cut a fancy label mat for my image then used various Marianne Design die cut pieces for embellishment, along with ribbon and pearls I've coloured with my Copic R30 pen to give me the soft peachy pink shade.

Here's the Marianne Design die list for this card:
chicken wire with the die in the cut and emboss set DF3404
flowers from COL1323
leaves snipped from LR0138
flower stamens from the mini poinsettia set LR0142
peachy swirly fronds from LR0157
butterflies from LR0261

Incy Wincy challenge is called Summer Lovin', and the Allsorts challenge is for pearls and gems, I have quite a few pearls on my card so hope that will qualify.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my card, and hope that it's ice cream weather where you are today!
